The event highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility, waste reduction, and the collective role of students in building a sustainable future.

Inauguration of the Coastal Cleanup Program

The Coastal Cleanup Program by NSS Units 56, 145 and 181 was inaugurated by Mr. Ponnusamy, Secretary of the Spic Nagar Rotary Club. His address inspired the volunteers to dedicate themselves to social service and community development. His message motivated the students to take the activity seriously and work with dedication.

Guest Address on Environmental Awareness

Following the inauguration, Mr. Rajakanthi, an active member of the Rotary Club, spoke to the students about hygiene and environmental conservation. He explained how pollution, especially plastic waste, affects marine life and disrupts the ecological balance. His words encouraged the NSS volunteers to understand the broader impact of their service and reminded them that small actions such as coastal cleaning can lead to big changes in society.

Active Participation by NSS Volunteers

A total of 60 NSS student volunteers from Kamaraj College enthusiastically joined the Coastal Cleanup Program by NSS Units 56, 145 and 181. By directly engaging in cleaning activities, students saw the urgency of reducing plastic use and promoting sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Recreational Activities After the Program

To appreciate the efforts of the volunteers, the program concluded with engaging sports activities. Students took part in friendly games that strengthened their sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Refreshments and snacks were provided to the participants, creating a joyful and relaxed atmosphere after the cleanup session. This thoughtful gesture by the organizers made the event memorable and enjoyable for the students.
