Career Guidance Program on Company Secretary as your Profession – Commerce Dept.

The Department of Commerce (SF) organized an enlightening session titled “Career Guidance program on Company Secretary as your profession by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India” on 7th July, 2025. The event aimed to provide students with comprehensive insights into various CS courses that could shape their future careers. The distinguished guest speaker for the workshop was CS. S. Ramalingam., Vice Chairman, Madurai Chapter of ICSI & Shri. T. Raja Incharge of Madurai Chapter of ICSI. The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Mr. Santhanakumar of II M.Com. His eloquent introduction set a positive tone for the event, emphasizing the significance of career guidance in navigating the diverse opportunities in the field of commerce. Following this, Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Head and Assistant Professor of Commerce, delivered the presidential address. Dr. A. Arunachala Rajan Vice Principal honoured the Chief guest with Memento & Gifts, He highlighted the importance of professional courses in enhancing one’s career prospects and underscored the role of such workshops in providing students with the necessary guidance and resources to make informed decisions about their future. CS. S. Ramalingam then took the stage to deliver his much-anticipated speech. He provided an in-depth overview of various professional courses available to commerce students, such as Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA). The workshop ended on a high note, leaving students motivated and better equipped to pursue their professional aspirations. The Beneficiaries in all were 324 final year students.
