Capacity Development Programme – IQAC & Computer Science Dept
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, organized a Capacity Development Programme exclusively for science students on the topic “Navigating the Future: Industry and Drone Innovation”. The event was held on 1st July 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Seminar Hall of the AMMS GN Block.
The highlight of the session was an inspiring and thought-provoking address by Mr. P. Rajesh, M.Tech., Scientist and Assistant Professor (AcSIR) at CSIR – National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. In his session, Mr. Rajesh shed light on the latest advancements, real-world applications, and future scope of drone technology in diverse industries. He emphasized the importance of innovation, research, and skill development in empowering the next generation of professionals in this rapidly evolving field.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. K. Bhanumathi, Principal (i/c), in the presence of Vice Principals Dr. S. Senthil and Dr. A. Arunachala Rajan, whose constant encouragement contributed to the smooth conduct of the event. Dr. V. Joseph Peter, Head of the Department of Computer Science, delivered the felicitation address.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Pugazh of III B.Sc. Computer Science. This was followed by an engaging technical lecture by the guest speaker, who explained how drone technology is revolutionizing sectors such as agriculture, logistics, surveillance, and scientific research. He urged students to focus on acquiring industry-relevant skills and staying updated with emerging trends.
An interactive Q&A segment allowed students to ask questions and deepen their understanding, reflecting their strong interest in the topic. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Patchaiammal of III B.Sc. Computer Science, who acknowledged the contributions of the guest speaker, faculty, and organizing team.
The programme was meticulously coordinated by IQAC Coordinator Dr. M. Gethsiyal Augasta with the support of Assistant IQAC Coordinator Mrs. S. Jinduja and the student office bearers of the Computer Science Association. With the enthusiastic participation of around 180 students and faculty members from various science departments, the session proved to be an enriching and impactful learning experience for all.
