
Biochemical and Microbiological Risk Assessment in Quality Assurance of Fish and Fishery Products – Microbiology Dept.
The PG and Research Department of Microbiology organized a guest lecture on “Biochemical and microbiological risk assessment in quality assurance of fish and fishery products” on 25.04.2023. Dr.R.Shalini M.F.Sc, Ph.D Assistant Professor, Department of Fish Quality Assurance and Management, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi served as the resource person. Dr.A.Arunachala Rajan, Vice Principal honoured the resource persons with shield. The Guest Lecture delivered an excellent and indepth lecture about biochemical and microbiological hazards in seafood and its testing procedures. She also elaborated about heavy metal detection and carcinogenic risk of heavy metals. A total of 175 students from B.Sc and Msc Microbiology were benefitted from the guest lecture. The students and staffs were giving the valuable feedback about this camp. Our college management provided all the necessary facilities to conduct this Guest lecture successfully.
