Atomic Energy

Department of Physics, Kamaraj College in association with Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam and Indian Association for Radiation Protection organized an interaction session at Heavy Water Administrative Office, Thoothukudi. The interaction took place between Dr Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Director, Baba Atomic Research Centre, Department of Atomic Energy, Dr B. Venkatraman, Director, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam and science faculty members from various Colleges. In this interactive session, various funding schemes available in DAE, key areas to focus on in research and how to get assistance from them while applying project were discussed. The professors were also encouraged to collaborate with eminent scientists in DAE and IGCAR. 30 faculty members from Kamaraj College, Aditanar College, KGS Arts College, Popes College, and VOC College – the institutions which are located in and around Thoothukudi actively participated.
