Alumni Interaction Session: 10 Inspiring Career Lessons

Introduction

The Alumni Interaction Session was successfully organized by the PG and Research Department of Mathematics of Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi on 17 July 2026 at 2.15 p.m. in Hall No. 35.

The programme was organized to provide students with valuable guidance from a successful alumnus. It created a meaningful platform for students to understand professional experiences, career-oriented skills, confidence building and leadership qualities. The session also strengthened the bond between the department and its alumni.

Objectives of the Session

The Alumni Interaction Session was conducted to motivate students through alumni experience and career guidance.

The major objectives of the programme were:

  • To provide students with career guidance through alumni interaction
  • To motivate students to develop confidence and leadership qualities
  • To create awareness about career-oriented skills
  • To help students understand professional expectations
  • To encourage students to learn from alumni experiences
  • To strengthen the relationship between alumni and current students
  • To support the academic and personal development of Mathematics students

The programme helped students understand that career success requires knowledge, confidence, communication, discipline and continuous learning.

Commencement of the Programme

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by T. Siva Parvathi, M. Priya Ranjani and G. Arunamathi. The prayer song created a pleasant and auspicious atmosphere for the session.

The peaceful beginning added dignity to the programme and prepared the gathering for a meaningful interaction with the alumnus.

Welcome Address

The Welcome Address was delivered by P. Anubharathi of II M.Sc Mathematics. She warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Head of the Department, faculty members, alumni and students.

In her address, she highlighted the importance of alumni interaction in motivating students and helping them understand career opportunities. Her welcome address created a positive beginning to the Alumni Interaction Session.

Chief Guest of the Programme

The Chief Guest of the programme was Mr. A. Muthu Immanuel, Director, MI Trans International, Thoothukudi. As an alumnus, his presence was highly inspiring for the students of the department.

He shared his professional experiences and guided the students on the importance of confidence, leadership and career-oriented skills. His address helped students understand the value of determination, discipline and practical learning in professional life.

Inspiring Address by the Chief Guest

Mr. A. Muthu Immanuel delivered an inspiring address to the students. He shared his journey, professional experience and the lessons he learned through his career.

Honouring of the Chief Guest

The Chief Guest was honoured with a shawl by Dr. P. Periyasamy. He was also presented with a memento by Dr. A. Kalaiyarasi as a token of appreciation.

Programme Coordination

The programme was coordinated by Dr. G. Hari Siva Annam, Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Mathematics.

The session was conducted under the valuable guidance of Dr. P. Sivagami, Head, PG and Research Department of Mathematics. Their planning and coordination ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the Alumni Interaction Session.

The support of the faculty members added value to the programme and encouraged the students to participate actively.

The Alumni Interaction Session organized by the PG and Research Department of Mathematics on 17 July 2026 at Hall No. 35 concluded successfully with the National Anthem.
