Alumni Interaction Programme: 7 Inspiring Career Insights
Introduction
The Department of Economics, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, organised an Alumni Interaction Programme on 31 July 2026 at Kamarajar Kalviarangam.
The Alumni Interaction Programme was organised to provide students with valuable guidance on career opportunities, higher education and prospects in the legal profession. The programme also aimed to strengthen alumni relationships and enable students to benefit from the experiences and achievements of distinguished alumni.
Welcome Address and Programme Objectives
The Alumni Interaction Programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. A. Velkumar, Head of the Department of Economics.
In his address, he highlighted the importance of maintaining strong alumni relationships and encouraged students to learn from the professional experiences of former students. The programme was coordinated by Dr. T. Vasanthi, Coordinator, Economics Alumni Association, and Dr. S. Karthick Selvam, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics.
Honouring the Chief Guest
The Chief Guest for the Alumni Interaction Programme was Adv. S. P. Madasamy, M.A., M.Phil., B.Ed., LL.B.
As a mark of respect and appreciation, Dr. A. Velkumar, Head of the Department of Economics, honoured the Chief Guest by draping a ceremonial shawl. Later, Dr. S. Karthick Selvam presented a memento in recognition of the Chief Guest’s valuable contribution to the programme.
