Alumni Interaction Program – Commerce Dept.
The Department of Commerce (Self-Finance) of Kamaraj College, Thoothukudi, organized a highly engaging Alumni Interaction Program on Thursday, 10 July 2025, at the Golden Jubilee Block. The event was part of the department’s continuous efforts to connect current students with successful alumni and offer them practical industry insights.
The session featured Mr. B. Santhana Kumar, M.Com., a proud alumnus of the department and currently serving as a Relationship Manager at Axis Bank, Thoothukudi. The interaction took place between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM and aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world career experiences.
During the session, Mr. Santhana Kumar shared his academic journey, professional milestones, and challenges encountered in his career path. His inspiring narrative highlighted the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and continuous learning.
He provided students with valuable tips on skill development, interview preparedness, communication, and workplace expectations. He also emphasized the importance of aligning academic pursuits with industry demands to remain competitive and career-ready.
The session was highly interactive, with students raising thoughtful questions on banking careers, growth opportunities in the finance sector, and strategies for professional success. Mr. Santhana Kumar responded with insightful and motivating advice that encouraged students to plan proactively for their futures.
The event was convened by Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Head of the Department. The arrangements were efficiently managed by student coordinators Aswini Karthiga (II M.Com.), Adithyaa (III B.Com.), and Surya (II B.Com.), who ensured smooth execution and active participation from the student community.
This alumni interaction served as a motivational platform for students to gain first-hand industry perspectives and strengthen their connection with the alumni network.
