AIDS Awareness Program

The PG & Research Department of Microbiology, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, successfully organized an AIDS Awareness Program on 23 December 2025 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. at the Golden Jubilee Block. The programme was conducted in connection with World AIDS Day with the primary objective of creating awareness and educating students about the prevention, control, and scientific understanding of HIV/AIDS.

This AIDS Awareness Program aimed to promote informed attitudes, reduce stigma, and encourage responsible health practices among students, preparing them to act as knowledgeable citizens and future healthcare professionals.

Inaugural Session and Welcome Address

The AIDS Awareness Program commenced at 10.30 a.m. with a warm and meaningful welcome address delivered by S. Kiruthika, II B.Sc. Microbiology. In her address, she highlighted the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and preventive strategies in combating HIV/AIDS.
