75 Years of Economic Development of India: Challenges and Opportunities – Economics Dept.

The Department of Economics organized a National Conference on “75 Years of Economic Development of India: Challenges and Opportunities” on 16 September, 2022 in the Seminar hall, GJ Block. S. Pradavus of II B.A Economics (SF) welcomed the gathering. The resource persons were honoured by the students of our department C. Karthikeyan, M. Ram kumar, M. Gowtham, K. Madhu Bala Murugan, K. Amrisha Harshan, E. Vishwa. The Resource persons Dr. P. Arunachalam, Head of Applied Economics, Cochin University of Science and Technology Cochin-22 and Dr. J. Moses Gnanakkan, Assistant Professor of Economics, Nazareth Margasis College, were introduced by Dr. K. Sumathi, Assistant Professor of our department. Dr. A. Arunachalarajan, Vice Principal, honoured the resource persons with the momentos and gave the presidential address. Dr. S. Raman, HOD was the convenor and made all the arrangements for the successful completion of the conference. This national conference was very useful to the students as they came to know the development of Indian Economy for the past 75 years. Around 142 participants got benefited by this conference. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. C. Mathimitha, and the programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
