Criminology Student Achievements: 4 Remarkable Prizes at Engineers’ Day

Criminology Student Achievements marked the participation of students from the Department of Criminology, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, in various competitions held as part of the National Engineers’ Day 2026 Celebration at the District Science Centre, Tirunelveli, on 16 and 17 September 2026.

The National Engineers’ Day Celebration was organised from 15 to 17 September 2026 by the District Science Centre, Tirunelveli, under the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in association with Thanusri Venture, Chennai.

Students participated in contests involving structural design, portrait drawing, estimation and RC car racing. Their participation and prize-winning performances demonstrated scientific interest, creativity, technical ability, innovation and enthusiasm for learning beyond the classroom.

Criminology Student Achievements at Engineers’ Day 2026

Students from different years of the Criminology and Forensic Science and Criminology and Police Administration programmes represented Kamaraj College in the competitions.

The event provided them with opportunities to apply their abilities in areas extending beyond their regular academic curriculum.

By participating in technical, scientific and creative competitions, the students gained valuable exposure to problem-solving, innovation and competitive learning.

Long Span Structure Contest

Mr. Ashwin R of III B.Sc. Criminology & Forensic Science and Mr. Thayalan S of III B.A. Criminology & Police Administration participated in the Long Span Structure Contest.

The competition provided the students with an opportunity to explore structural concepts and demonstrate their interest in technical and practical challenges.

Their participation reflected the willingness of Criminology students to engage with multidisciplinary activities and explore areas beyond their core curriculum.

Prize in Portrait Drawing Contest

Mr. Vijay K of I B.A. Criminology & Police Administration won a prize in the Portrait Drawing Contest.

His achievement highlighted the importance of creativity and artistic expression alongside academic learning.

Participation in such creative competitions also gives students an opportunity to showcase individual talents and gain confidence through external exposure.

General Estimate Contest

Students of the Department also participated enthusiastically in the General Estimate Contest.

A group of students also participated in the General Estimate Contest – General Public Category.

Mr. Hariharan G of III B.Sc. Criminology & Forensic Science secured the Second Prize.
