Commerce Assembly: 7 Inspiring Highlights from the 22nd Monthly Meeting

Introduction

The Department of Commerce, Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, organised the 22nd Commerce Assembly on 07 August 2026 to bring together students and faculty members for reviewing departmental achievements, sharing important announcements and motivating students towards academic excellence.

The Commerce Assembly served as an effective platform to recognise student accomplishments, communicate departmental activities and strengthen discipline, responsibility and participation among students.

Inaugural Session

The Commerce Assembly commenced with the rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the Kalluri Vazhthu Paadal, creating a respectful and inspiring atmosphere.

The programme was efficiently compered by Mr. Arunkumar S., III B.Com. Batch III, who ensured the smooth conduct of the assembly.

Departmental Presentations

As part of the Commerce Assembly, Ms. Mageshwari V., II B.Com. Batch III, presented the post event report, highlighting the important activities and programmes organised by the department.

Mr. Mohammad Irphan Padhan S., I B.Com. Batch III, presented the staff and student achievements for the month, recognising outstanding academic and co curricular accomplishments. The presentation encouraged students to continue striving for excellence and active participation in departmental activities.

Head of the Department’s Address

The highlight of the Commerce Assembly was the address delivered by Dr. V. Gopalakrishnan, Head of the Department of Commerce.

He appreciated the achievements of the students and faculty members and explained the importance of following the department’s rules and regulations with sincerity and discipline. He also briefed the students about the upcoming academic, co curricular and extension activities planned by the department and encouraged everyone to participate actively.
