Kamaraj College Students Council Election 2025: Democratic Leadership in Action
The Kamaraj College Students Council Election 2025 for the Self-Financing Wing was successfully held on 21 July 2025, reflecting the college’s dedication to nurturing leadership, participation, and democratic values. The event brought vibrant energy to the campus as students from various departments engaged in the process of choosing their representatives.
The election was overseen by the Election Committee under the supervision of Dr. A. Arunchalarajan, Vice-Principal of the Self-Financing Wing. Faculty members supported the event, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
Nomination and Campaigning: Setting the Stage for Change
The nomination phase of the Kamaraj College Students Council Election 2025 began on 18 July 2025. Students filed nominations for key posts including Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer. This marked the first formal step in giving students a chance to represent their peers and shape college life.
Later that same day, nominated candidates campaigned in front of branch representatives, outlining their goals and vision for the betterment of the student community. Their speeches focused on inclusivity, academic engagement, extracurricular opportunities, and student welfare. The campaigning process created a healthy, participatory atmosphere where voters had a clear understanding of what each candidate stood for.
Election Day and Result Declaration
The actual voting was conducted through a secure and secret ballot system, reinforcing democratic values on campus. Representatives cast their votes in a peaceful and organized manner. The presence of the Election Committee and the Vice-Principal throughout the process ensured smooth proceedings.
On 24 July 2025, the votes were counted, and the winners were officially announced.

To mark the successful formation of the council, the Investiture Ceremony was held on 26 July 2025. The ceremony was graced by Mr. P.S.P.K.J. Somasundaram, Secretary of Kamaraj College, as the Guest of Honour. Dr. K. Bhanumathi, Principal i/c, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the value of student leadership in shaping the institution’s future.
A beautiful candle-lighting ceremony followed, symbolizing responsibility, dedication, and service. Each council member received a sash, took an oath of sincerity, and pledged to work toward the collective upliftment of the college.
