The State Level Tirukkural Quiz Competition stands as a remarkable initiative aimed at promoting Tamil literature, moral wisdom, and cultural pride among college students across Tamil Nadu. On 07 December 2025, the Chennai Tamil Development Directorate, in partnership with leading visual media, hosted the first and second rounds of this prestigious competition at the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. The final round was conducted at the Puthiya Thalaimurai Television Station located in Ekkattuthangal, Chennai.

This quiz competition celebrated the timeless greatness of the Tirukkural, encouraging students to explore its profound teachings and apply its values in everyday life.

State-Wide Participation and Academic Significance

The State Level Tirukkural Quiz Competition attracted an impressive participation of 120 students from various districts across Tamil Nadu. Students competed in multiple rounds that tested their depth of knowledge, understanding of Tirukkural couplets, interpretation of themes, and ability to relate them to practical life situations.

Participation from Kamaraj College Thoothukudi

Representing Thoothukudi District with pride, three second-year Mathematics students from Kamaraj College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi participated in the quiz competition:

In the final round of the State Level Tirukkural Quiz Competition, held at Puthiya Thalaimurai Television Station, M. Subamathi (II B.Sc. Mathematics) represented both the college and the district. சென்னை தமிழ் வளர்ச்சி இயக்ககம் காட்சி ஊடகங்களுடன் இணைந்து தமிழ்நாடு அளவில் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கு குறள் வினாடி- வினாப்போட்டிகள் முதல் சுற்று, இரண்டாம் சுற்றுப் போட்டிகள் சென்னை அசோக் நகரில் உள்ள அரசினர் மகளிர் மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் 07-12-2025 (ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை) அன்று நடைபெற்றது.

இறுதிச்சுற்றுப் போட்டி சென்னை ஈக்காட்டுத்தாங்கலில் உள்ள புதிய தலைமுறை தொலைக்காட்சி நிலையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

இப்போட்டியில் மாநில அளவில் 120 மாணவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டம் சார்பாக காமராஜ் கல்லூரி (தன்னாட்சி) இரண்டாமாண்டு கணிதவியல் மாணவிகள் ச.சுபமதி, மு.முத்தாரச் செல்வி, மு.சுபமதி ஆகியோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

இறுதிச்சுற்றுப் போட்டியில் மு.சுபமதி ( இரண்டாமாண்டு கணிதம்) மாணவி கலந்துகொண்டு பங்குபெற்ற அணி மூன்றாவது பரிசாக ரூபாய் 10,000 பெற்று மாநிலத்தில் மூன்றாவது இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

வெற்றிபெற்ற மாணவிக்கு கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் பானுமதி, துணை முதல்வர் முனைவர் செந்தில் ஆகியோர் பாராட்டு தெரிவித்து சான்றிதழ்களை வழங்கி சிறப்பித்தார்கள்.

இம்மாணவர்களை நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட அலுவலர்கள் திரு பா.ஆனந்த் (அணிஎண்-54), திரு மா.அய்யனுராஜ் (அணிஎண்-56) ஆகியோர் வழிநடத்தினார்கள்.
