The Talent Quest for India

The Phoenix Literary Association of the Department of English (SF) has organized an orientation on ‘ The Talent Quest for India’, at Seminar Hall, GJ Block. This programme focused on motivating students towards social welfare. The session started at 2.00 pm with the Thamizh Thaai Vaazhthu. Welcome address was delivered by S.Kanipriya of II BA English. Opening remarks and the Master Ceremony were skillfully done by A.Rohith from I BA English. The Guest speakers were honoured by our College Director Dr. A. Arunachala Rajan. Introductory speech about the guest speakers was delivered by M. Swetha from III B.A English. The Chief guest Mr. Sudharsan Ramanathan (Project Manager TQI) and Mr. Michael Britto (Core member)threw light on the vision of TQI. Three of our English department Alumni members Mr.M.Subramani, Mr.G.Arul Arasu, Mr.C.Mahesh Kumar who jointly worked as a team with TQI in the year 2019-2020, shared their experience with their juniors.

The Talent Quest for India (TQI) Trust is a team of enthusiastic youth volunteers with a vision of creating social responsible leaders in every community. TQI has transformed from an idea of student involvement in social activities in their neighborhood to a volunteering movement in about 30 districts across Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. They have engaged over 6000 + youth leaders to deliver holistic development and social awareness programs.

The Orientation Programme was very useful for the students instigating them to involve in social activities and render their help to enhance the communicative skills among the rural school students. Vote of thanks was delivered by Abiya Esther from I MA English and the programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
